Kingdom Encounters is based in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu. We offer unique marine encounters in the pristine waters of Tonga, where humpback whales migrate each year to breed and give birth. Our experienced guides ensure you have a safe and unforgettable experience with these magnificent creatures.
Our vessels carry small groups, keeping the ocean as undisturbed as we found it — and your experience as intimate as it should be.
Each journey follows the whales through Tonga's warm waters. We follow — never chase. Season runs July to October.
"Our experience with Kingdom Encounters was truly amazing. As first-time visitors to Tonga, we were so glad we took the time to swim with the whales. The guides' expertise made us feel incredibly safe and maximised our time in the water. We also loved the midday lunch stop and island snorkel. We can’t wait to do it all again!"
"We had the best time whale watching and swimming. Our kids were looked after while we went swimming with the whales. Lovely lunch which our kids still talk about. Would definitely recommend."
"Went with my family and we all loved it - swim with 3 whales and had good lunch at a island with the most amazing beach!! Good people and highly recommended."
